Hey, I made it back from 12 loooong days at sea! I’m not sure yet how I feel about taking another cruise, so I’ll sit on it for a bit and share my thoughts after I’ve had some time to get back into my normal routine. I don’t want to make any decisions based on a mood that may or may not be warranted.
Anyway, on to happy things! I did spend some time on my cruise working, but not on my blog or my full-time job. I decided a few months ago that I was ready to take the plunge and go into business for myself, so on the first of June I became one of Stella & Dot’s newest Independent Stylists. I am so excited to see how far I can fly in this new venture! If you don’t know what Stella & Dot is all about, check out my website. We have some really gorgeous pieces this season with big, big surprises coming later this month and again with the fall line.
After two weeks of vacation, I’ve definitely got some big tasks to tackle, so let’s get on with this week’s goals.
1. Rock my first trunk show.
Yep, I already had a trunk show booked when I signed my contract with Stella & Dot. I’m a planner and wanted to ensure some successes with my new venture right from the very start. I’ll make my debut this Friday evening with a great bunch of ladies at a fabulous wine bar in our area. Jewelry, bags, great company, and wine make a great combination!
2. Get back into my blogging groove.
I’m not going to lie – I loved every minute of my break from the blog. I did miss the interactions with you all, but I was so exhausted from all of the touring that all I could manage to do is drink wine and get spa treatments. It was rough! The two weeks off did give me a lot of time to let my thoughts wander, and I came up with a few new ideas I’d like to explore for this blog. Some changes are a-comin’!
3. Start working on Doc’s trail-walking manners.
My sweet little angel of a dog is a total jerk when I try to walk him. He howls and lunges at anything that is moving faster than he is. Cars, bikes, motorcycles, runners. Friggin tractors. He’s not trying to bite anyone, but he’s definitely being territorial. It’s embarrassing for me and scary for everyone else. I’ve had a few trainers give me some tips and I am going to give a couple of them a shot before I finally cave and take him to obedience classes. Here’s hoping….
How about you? What are you trying to achieve this week?
